Pretty awesome late-night show cooking segment.
Sooooo….I met Curtis Stone!!!! On Sat, Aug 27th, he came to the NY State Fair. He was scheduled to do a cooking show that afternoon, and, being the HUGE fan of his that I am (I’ve seen him on pretty much everything he’s done on TV since Take Home Chef) I knew I was definitely going. Whether I’d meet him in person or not, I didn’t know - I only hoped.
But…bonus! The day before the aforementioned day, the state fair added additional information about his visit to their website, and said he’d have a book signing that morning. Good thing I checked the night before. Win!
So, I bought the book at the fair, got in line, and…omg, Curtis! I got to meet him, get my picture with him, (put my arm around him :)), talk with him, get his book signed by him, and basically just be memorized by him. (He’s even more gorgeous in person (I know, hard to believe), and he smells nice too. : )) I was completely star struck, I’ll admit. But hey, I tried to play it cool. And I (mostly) did.
Anyway, the whole event was very well managed. And his cooking show was very entertaining as well. And, between these events, I saw him checking out the fair for himself in one of the buildings I happened to be in. So, I saw him buy those roasted, cinnamon-coated nuts, as well as a few bottles of pure NY maple syrup (after sampling the delicious maple butter/paste or whatever stuff that they had free samples of.) No…I wasn’t stalking. I just happened to be in that building, so…it was really more like he was stalking me. I just watched him stalk me.
In case you didn’t know, this is a photo of Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay, lead actors on USA’s show White Collar (one of the best, if not THE best, shows on TV right now.) I’m [slightly] obsessed with this show, and now, these actors. (Tim DeKay in particular, despite Matt Bomber being most people’s favorite.)
One day, I will go to NYC and see them shooting out on the street. (And take plenty of photos, and hopefully even meet them!) This is a major goal of mine. It would be a dream of mine, basically. Therefore, I MUST find a way to make this happen. I can’t wait until it does! (Btw…I’m beaming with excitement just thinking about it.)
So, I’m ridiculously excited right now. See this man? This is Curtis Stone. He’s an Australian chef, classically trained in London. I’ve been a fan of him for MANY years. I’ve known of him ever since what I’m quite sure was his debut to the TV world on a little show on TLC called Take Home Chef. Though, even with that show, the world didn’t really know of him. He started doing more cooking segments on the Today Show, but it’s really not until the past two or so years that he’s become a household name after being on Celebrity Apprentice, having cooking spots on the Biggest Loser, and now hosting the newest season of Bravo’s Top Chef Masters.
So, there’s a small background, but here’s the exciting part. He’s coming to the NY State Fair!!!! Yes, that’s right, and I WILL finally get a chance to go see (and maybe even meet…) him IN PERSON!!! Are you grasping the awesomeness of this development?? And, it’s completely free with fair admission. And I go to the fair every year, multiple times some years, so that’s not a problem. I’m definitely going! I can’t wait!!!
Oh, and you know something else ironic? Just yesterday I was looking up posts on him on tumblr because I decided that my next post should be something about him. And then they announced this news!! I’m extatic!!
Ok, one more kind of related thing. Also free at the State Fair this year is the Irish band The Script. I’m also huge fans of them. (Honestly though, I’m a bigger fan of Curtis…but I still really like The Script too.) So yeah, this is epic. Seriously.
Oh. My. Gosh. Quite possibly the most beautiful video I have EVER seen. I’m really not exaggerating. Watch it.
Haven’t had this view in far too long.
